Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is on a two-day visit to Gorakhpur, began his second day in the city by feeding fodder to cows.

The Chief Minister said, "Cow protection is very important for us. Both the Uttar Pradesh government and the central government will take several steps to encourage it. The rural economy is centered around cows."



Today, Adityanath will be attending a function on the occasion of the death anniversary of Yogiraaj Baba Gambhirnath. He will be making an address to the gathering during the event.


A grand celebration has been organised in Gorakhnath Math, in which Home Minister Rajnath has been invited as the chief guest.


Here's what CM Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to do on the Day 2 of his visit to Gorakhpur:


9.30 am: CM Yogi Adityanath visit Gaushala, feeds cow
11:00 - Adityanath will participate in 100th death anniversary of Yogiraj Baba Gambhirnath at Gorakhpur temple
3:00 pm: Adityanath will meet party workers 
4:00 pm: Adityanth will visit BJP regional headquarters in Beniganj 
4:30 pm: Will meet top cops, officials in Gorakhpur to take stock of the law and order
5:30 pm: Will leave for Gorakhpur airport and will head to Lucknow


Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements are also being put in place for the high-profile visit. Security of the Gorakhnath temple has been beefed up with metal detectors placed at all the entry points into the temple. All the devotees thronging the temple are being thoroughly frisked before being allowed inside.
