Mussoorie election results 2017: BJP`s Ganesh Joshi wins

Mussoorie: There are twelve candidates contesting from Mussoorie in the 2017 Uttarakhand elections.

They include contenders from BSP, Uttarakhand Parivartan Party, BJP, UKD and the Congress.

For the BJP, the nominee is the political heavyweight, Ganesh Joshi, who was in news after a police horse Shaktiman was injured and later died.

His slogan in the in the constituency is - Mussoorie kahe dil se, Ganesh Joshi phir se.

Joshi, 59, is trying to enter the state Assembly from Mussoorie seat for second consecutive term and is up against Congress' Gorkha face Godavari Thapli.

In 2012 Assembly polls Thapli fought against Joshi as an independent.

Apart from Mussoorie town, this constituency also covers a major part of Dehradun city.

At that time, Congress had fielded Jot Singh Gunsola, who was defeated by Joshi by 28,097 votes.
