DNA: What should be the amount of democracy in a country?

15 September is celebrated as the International Day of Democracy after it was established in 2007 through a resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Since democracy is essential for the protection of human rights, the day also highlights the important role of parliaments. But is democracy now more than necessary in some countries?
