IMD dismisses reports on earthquake in Odisha, says mysterious sounds heard

The India Metrological Department (IMD) has determined that the loud, strange sound reported in Jajpur, Bhadrak, and parts of Odisha’s Keonjhar district was not caused by an earthquake. The booming noises had perplexed the terrified residents, who had fled outside, anticipating an earthquake. Senior Scientist of India Meteorological Department Umashankar Das said that no earthquake was reported in Odisha.
