Yes, YouTube was down. We're not responsible. Neither is the police.


Google-owned video streaming platform's worldwide outage sparked a flurry of comments on social media, even prompting police departments to tweet.


"Yes, our @YouTube is down, too. No, please don't call 911 - we can't fix it,” tweeted the Philadelphia Police.



New Zealand Police also tweeted, “While it is extremely annoying, @YouTube being down is not a police matter #YouTubeDOWN”



Thousands took to social media to report about the error messages and video streaming issues. 


Twitter exploded with hilarious messages, some truly genius. 



 



 



 



 



YouTube posted a message on their Twitter handle: "Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We're working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated. 


The website was restored by 8:15 am IST. The company is yet to issue a statement on the reason behind the massive outage.
