The Patidar agitation leader also took to Twitter and tweeted, ''I will definitely come here to campaign during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019... But we all have to be united to fight those who are trying to divide the country."

After his meeting with the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief here, Hardik Patel told reporters that he had assured full support to Mamata Banerjee in the 2019 General Elections.

Patel, however, said that the meeting did not involve any political agreement between the two.

Hardik Patel hinted that the West Bengal Chief Minister had invited him to join her party whenever he desired to do so, according to ANI.

"I am not a political leader, I am an agitator. I did not come to strike any political deal or for any other political talk, but she told me that 'if you ever want to join a political party, my party is always open'," he said.

He also described the West Bengal Chief Minister as "lady Gandhi".

"I saw lady Gandhi. She is a simple and selfless person. After Indira Gandhi, she has been the epitome of the struggle for the cause of the people," he said.

Patel also invited the Trinamool chief to visit Gujarat for women empowerment.

"She had done a great work during the earthquake in Bhuj 2001."
