Kolkata: The met department today forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty wind at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal till on Friday.

Gangetic West Bengal, comprising the southern districts of the state is likely to experience thunderstorms till tomorrow morning following which there is likely to be scattered rain in the next four days.


In the sub-Himalayan districts where monsoon activity is subdued for the last few days, there is the likelihood of one or two spells of rain in the next four days till September 11, the met department said.


In Kolkata, there was no rainfall recorded in 24 hours till 8.30 am this morning.


Relative humidity was quite high leading to discomfort for the people during the day.


Little or no rainfall was recorded other parts of the state during the period, the weatherman said.
