New Delhi: A powerful earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude hits US's New Jersey on Friday, shaken also felt in a part of New York City and Pennsylvania, according to the United State Geological survey (USGS).

USGS informed about the earth wuiek through micriblogging site X, the geographical survey called it  "passive-aggressive margin". "Earthquakes are uncommon but not unheard of along the Atlantic Coast, a zone one study called a "passive-aggressive margin" b/c there's no active plate boundary between the Atlantic & N. American plates, but there are stresses. Did you feel the NJ quake?" USGS said.
