New Delhi: A total of 89 candidates including five sitting MLAs from Congress and BJP filed nominations on Wednesday for the Delhi Assembly polls scheduled for December 4.
The office of the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer said that 89 candidates belonging to over two dozen parties, like AAP, Congress, BJP, BSP, and CPI, JD (U) along with Independents, filed nominations in nine electoral districts of Delhi.

EC received 143 applications as some parties as well as independents filed multiple applications. BJP MLA Jai Bhagwan Aggarwal filed his nomination from Rohini Constituency. Pravesh Sahib Singh, son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, filed his papers from Mehrauli constituency.
Out of 89 candidates, 15 were from BJP, eight from Congress and four were from AAP.
