Mumbai: Shraddha Kapoor unveiled the trailer of ‘Haseena Parkar’ Tuesday and was quote thrilled and nervous at the same time. The Apoorva Lakhia film is perhaps her first film in which she plays the sole protagonist! However, turns out that she was not the first choice for the high-octane emotional drama.

At the trailer launch, the filmmaker revealed that Sonakshi Sinha was first approached to essay the character of Haseena Parkar, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister.

“We had first approached Sonakshi. Our shoot kept on getting postponed. She was doing 'Force 2' at that time and John was injured. Shraddha was totally my second choice. I knew she could play a 17-year-old and a 45-year-old too," said Apoorva in a media interaction.

The film also stars Siddhant Kapoor, Shraddha’s real-life brother. Interestingly, Siddhanth was on board ‘Haseena Parkar’ much before Shraddha.

Talking about his experience of working with his baby sister, Siddhant said, “I was cast with Sonakshi Sinha but she could not do the film so my sister came on board which was the best that happened to my life and my career. She has been working so hard to pull it off.”

Slated to release on August 18, ‘Haseena Parkar’ will help Sharddha boost her career graph as an actor.
