Latest Updates

  • India Ka DNA 2019 Conclave: The session on Indian economy gets over. Stay tuned for the second part of the conclave that will see top politicians exchange their views on a wide range of issues.

  • The development narrative in 2019 is election dominated. While elections are held every five years, schemes are made for overall growth. But sometimes criticism to government projects are motivated.

The scheme that we started in 2014-15 will be completed before 2019. So schemes are not election driven. I firmly believe that all the targets will be met before time. You can check it based on figures and statistics.

  • The governments has strong intent to achieve its Housing for All mission by 2022 by enabling home ownership for every Indian. Till May 31, 4.75 million homes had been sanctioned. 3-5 lakh homes are being sanctioned every month. And by June, 51 million we will have sanctioned homes. So going by this rate, I think we can achieve housing for all scheme target by the third quarter of 2019

  • It is very difficult to define affordable housing. We are subjecting ourselves to annual report cards and we have a good story to tell.

Our Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna has three sections –People belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low-Income Group (LIG), Middle-Income Group-I and Middle-Income Group-II

  • Hardeep Singh Puri, Union minister for housing and urban affairs to discuss on affordable housing

  • Experts on Real Estate talk on affordable housing

  • We must recognise agriculture as an economic activity and not a political activity. Farmers will be benefited if we work on policies towards increasing their farm output

  • In all the sectors, the pricing is fixed by the manufacturer. But farmers are not allowed to do this. I feel farmers should be allowed to fix their MSP price, Vijay Sardana

  • DK Agarwal says there is a huge gap between price to consumers and price which a farmer gets. This gap has to be reduced.

  • Vijay Sardana says, there are 3 types of cost --A2 or direct cost, labour cost and fixed cost. In our country everybody talks on affordable price for consumers, nobody talks about giving more benefits to farmers. Agriculture policy will be successful if you try to come out with a workable model where the consumer pays a little more and the farmer gets a little more

  • Agricultural produce and livestock marketing act 2017 has been revolutionary in this front for farmers

  • An efficient marketing structure is more important than Minimum Support Price (MSP). The APMC System has been monopolised. But the new policy on agricultural produce has curbed the cartelisation to some extent

  • Ensuring a conducive market is another important factor that should be on focus. From farm harvest gate to the last consumer –the agri-logistics like storage, transportation, handling and processing –everything has to be in place

  • RG Agarwal says water is a very important element of irrigation. It is important to ensure that farmer gets ample water supply for irrigating farmland. Our dependence on Monsoon can be reduced if we pay more attention on this front.

  • RG Agarwal talks on improving farmers' contribution and key inputs required to double farmers' income

  • In the past, people were only talking abot farmer's output growth. But Modi government has for the first time talked about farmer's income: DK Agarwal

  • GDP growth or growth in technology is futile if farmers are not happy: Vijay Sardana

  • Vijay Sardana speaks on the issue of doubling farmers' income
