New York, June 18: Oscar winning actress, Juliette Binoche makes her first foray into comedy in the French film, " Jet Lag" which follows two stranded air passengers over the course of the day.
She's running away from the man she still loves, and he's running after a woman he believes he still loves. French actors Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno star in the movie, "Jet Lag" - full of hilarious moments and how fate can play on one's life.

Binoche's character, Rose is a chatty extrovert who cannot be missed, while Felix is a discreet mild mannered and withdrawn person and their lives change forever when their flight is canceled at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. For Binoche, the fact that the film was entirely based on the two characters was a big draw for her as an actress.

"When I read the script, I was thinking "there is no way I am letting go of this script.' First of all, I laughed when I read it and I don't think I had an affair with 'man and woman' differences and saying our differences, and that is what I liked very much in a movie."

Juliette's character, Rose is a prize winning beautician, who hides her feelings behind a facade of heavy make up; however, she transforms into a strong and beautiful woman the day she lets her mask slip. Although initially, the character comes across as slightly daft, she's actually very smart and knows what's going on around her even though she can't verbalize it. Binoche says she was originally a bit apprehensive about the genre. "Well because it was my first comedy, I was more tense because I did not have much experience but I would say that the intensity of the work is the same. In a comedy, you have to make people believe what is happening. You can't just take it lightly. People have to believe but it has to be a little more extreme."

Binoche says that the evolution of her character from a shallow person to a woman who delves deeper into her character was interesting to her. "I liked the transformation of Rose. Where she loses her mask and all the make up and show's her true colors without the artificiality. The change of her relationship with Jean Reno."

"Jet Lag" opens in theaters across North America in late June.
