Several Pakistani bunkers across International Border in Kathua and Jammu districts were damaged in retaliatory fire by Indian troops, while four security personnel were injured on Indian side since Friday, BSF sources said in Jammu on Saturday. They said that Pakistani rangers and troops targetted fifty-five Border Outposts (BoPs) along International Border on Indian side in R S Pura, Samba and Hiranagar sub-sectors with heavy firing and mortar shelling on Thursday night, forcing the security forces to retaliate. Several Pakistani bunkers have been damaged on the other side of IB, they said, adding that some casualties on Pakistani side might have taken place.
Two Pakistani posts located opposite Paharpur area of Hiranagar sector of Kathua district were also destroyed after catching fire in retaliatory action by Indian troops on Friday.
Three jawans of BSF and one army jawan were injured in the cross-firing in border outposts along IB on Friday evening and were admitted to the military hospital at Samba, they said.
Five houses were damaged in shelling and firing in Benglard area of Samba sub-sector, they said. Reports from Poonch district said that exchange of firing and shelling continued from 10:30 pm till 4:30 am.
