Beijing, Oct 12: India's premier trade body, the Confederation of Indian Industry would be entering into an "exclusive" alliance with its Chinese counterpart here next week to boost mutually beneficial trade and commercial links between the world's fastest growing economies. "CII would be entering into a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) on October 17," senior director and head of East Asia representative office of CII, Piyush Bahl told here.
Bahl said the highlight of the 'India Week China' from October 13 to 19 would be the launch of the India-China business forum wherein CII would be entering into a fresh MoU with the ACFIC.
Under this 'exclusive' agreement, 40 CEOs from both sides would participate and deliberate on various issues relating to trade and investment cooperation.
The first meeting of the forum is scheduled to be hosted by CII in New Delhi in the last week of November, 2003.
Established in 1953, the ACFIC has a membership of over 1.64 million across the vast nation.
The 'India Week China' to be held in Shanghai and Beijing, organised jointly by the CII and Indian missions in the two Chinese cities, is a follow-up to the June visit of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The 'India Week China' would be inaugurated by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Arun Jaitely, official sources said. Bureau Report
