New Delhi, Feb 04: As the Ayodhya issue seems to be hotting up once again with VHP setting a deadline on the possession of disputed land, the Shankaracharya of Kanchi Jayandra Saraswati is meeting Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today.
"Last time there was a need for intervention. But this time there is no such need. There is no problem right now and there will be no discussion (with prime minister)," he told a news channel ahead of his meeting with Vajpayee this evening.
Shankaracharya said if there was a need, he would intervene and it was the job of Dharmacharya to talk to both sides and resolve the issue. "I had done that last time also".
The Shankaracharya, who is on his way to Bhiwani, had met President A P J Abdul Kalam last night.

Jayandra Saraswati, who mediated last year between VHP and Muslim leaders on the Ayodhya issue, said yesterday that the VHP should and would get the "undisputed" land in Ayodhya.

The seer said last year he came when he was called by the government but this time he has come on his own.

On Wednesday, the Shankaracharya is to consecrate a Shiva temple in Bhiwani in Haryana.
