New Delhi: SplashData has announced the 2015 edition of its annual 'Worst Passwords List', showing how casually internet users tend to take their cyber security.

Passwords like '123456' and 'password' once again tipped to become the most commonly used passwords, as they have since SplashData’s first list in 2011 showing how many users make themselves vulnerable to identity theft and hacking.

The firm compiled more than 2 million leaked passwords to prepare the list.

SplashData suggests a method of arriving at a secure password:

1) Use password or paraphrase with at least 12 characters with mixed characters

2) Avoid using same password over and over again on different websites
