New Delhi: Absconding liquor baron Vijay Mallya on Wednesday sought 3 weeks time to file reply to SBI led consortium of banks who sought deposit of amount of 40 million dollars before the Supreme Court.

SC has asked Mallya to file an affidavit on plea of banks alleging the businessman transferred 40 million dollars to his children.


The Consortium of banks led by SBI has alleged in SC that Mallya in "flagrant" violation of orders of HC and DRT, transferred money to kids.


A Bench of SC headed by Justice Kurian Joseph has granted 3 weeks time to Mallya. Next hearing on the matter on February 2.


Mallya, had in November last year told SC that the $40 million, which he had received from London-based liquor major Diageo under a $75-million payout package, was transferred to his three children through gift settlements within two days of the receipt.
