New Delhi: Scottish historian and writer - William Dalrymple – on Friday launched his latest book 'Kohinoor - The Story of the Worlds Most Infamous Diamond'. It is based on one of the most controversial diamonds in the world.

Co-authored by journalist Anita Anand, the book was launched last week at Bikaner House in New Delhi. Speaking about their work, the authors said that it tells a lot about the journey of this controversial diamond.


Interestingly, some unknown aspects about the precious stone are also revealed in this book. During the launch event, an interesting discussion was also held about the great history of 'Kohinoor'.


The book is an account of a saga of loot, murder, torture, deceit and colonial greed which has been associated with the diamond and according to the authors, their writing is an attempt to separate history from myth. They even presented many photographs, paintings, illustrations from the book while elaborating their writing.
