New Delhi: Traffic rules are the same for everyone, even Ravana. If he drives past the President's house wearing his crown instead of a helmet, he is bound to be challaned. And that is what happened when actor Mukesh Rishi, who plays the role of Ravana in a Ramlila production being held at the Red Fort grounds, was driving in Delhi.

The actor was on his way to perform the Ramlila when the violation came to light. Several videos of him riding a Harley Davidson without a helmet went viral prompting the police to send him a challan.

DCP Traffic (Outer Range) Dinesh Gupta has been quoted as saying that the traffic personnel sent videos of him to the Road and Safety cell headquarters in Todapur. The vehicle owner was traced through the videos and a notice was sent to him communicating that he had violated traffic norms.

The actor then reached the Delhi Traffic Police headquarters on Friday and paid the fine. The actor said that he did not do it intentionally. "No matter who you are, you must wear proper gear while driving. I wanted to send this message. I will pay the fine," Mukesh said.
