Army on alert following desecration of gods` pictures
Patna, Jan 11: The army today remained alert at Gaya where the situation was gradually returning to normal after tension gripped the town yesterday following the desecration of pictures of Gods near Bhairav Sthan by some miscreants.

State home secretary (in-charge) Ravi Kant said here today that
one company of Rapid Action Force, two companies of Bihar military
police, jawans of central reserve police force and Bihar military
police had also been deputed at various places in the district town
for maintaining law and order.
Tension gripped Gaya after miscreants damaged pictures of gods and goddesses on Thursday night.
Mr Ravi Kant said additional police force from Patna, Nawada and Jehanabad districts had also been rushed to Gaya. Fire tenders were also ready at various places as a precautionary measure. Bureau Report
