Kopargaon (Maharashtra), Dec 02: Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi has said an inquiry in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam must be conducted thoroughly and persons involved punished. "Every person entangled in this scam must be brought before court and punished to regain faith of people in democracy and police department," he told reporters at Shirdi near here yesterday.
About Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in stamp paper scam, who is from Karnataka, he said "the incident is shameful for everybody."
Earlier, Chaturvedi, along with his son Anil, and Gen Neresh Viz, director of Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai visited the shrine of Shri Sai Baba at Shirdi.
After `darshan' at the temple, the governor, who is a regular visitor to the temple since 1967, was honoured by News Papers Assocation of India.
