Srinagar, Jan 08: Lauding the leaders of India and Pakistan for improving their relations, Jammu and Kashmir main opposition National Conference today appealed to the two countries to settle all outstanding disputes, including Kashmir, at the earliest. Party president Omar Abdullah said in a statement that NC appreciates the leaders of India and Pakistan for their successful negotiations at the recent Saarc summit and hoped that in future they will further strengthen their relations. Observing that the people of the subcontinent, especially from the state wanted peace as they have suffered a lot, he appealed to the two countries for an early settlement of all outstanding issues including Kashmir. Accusing Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of dancing to the tunes of some leaders in Delhi like Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Jagmohan, Abdullah said people will not allow the coalition government to erode article 370 of the Constitution. "The people of the three regions of the state will never allow the coalition government to remove article 370 as it has been trying," he said. Alleging that Sayeed's policy is to divide and rule, Abdullah claimed that his healing touch, peace rally and opening of Rawalpindi road were mere slogans to mislead the people.
