Jammu, Jan 11: Amidst talk of commencement of bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad in PoK, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has said wayside facilities on Uri road and tourists resorts at various places would be developed to give a boost to tourism industry. The state authorities have been directed to formulate a comprehensive policy for developing resorts and tourist villages with private sector involvement by upgrading infrastructure facilities at popular picturesque spots in the state, Sayeed said at a high level meeting convened here to review the progress made in various projects.
Emphasizing on creation of tourist wayside facilities on Uri road before the start of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service, he said sites have been identified at Gulmarg for developing tourist resorts while process to develop other tourist places, including at Pahalgam, would commence soon.
Services of experts would also be availed for the purpose, he said.
The state government will also appeal to the Centre to provide Rs 20 crore for the construction of tourist reception centres at Qazigun and Jammu, he added.
Referring to the services to be availed to the tourists, he said loan, grants, paying guest and sports facilities would be provided in tourist villages. Bureau Report
