Chandigarh, Nov 13: SAD President Parkash Singh Badal today dismissed as `a desperate afterthought and a clear act of fabrication` the reported action of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau to produce some police officials as witnesses to `prove` the corruption charges levelled by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh against Badal`s family members.
Chandigarh, Nov 13: SAD President Parkash Singh
Badal today dismissed as "a desperate afterthought and a clear
act of fabrication" the reported action of the Punjab
Vigilance Bureau to produce some police officials as witnesses
to "prove" the corruption charges levelled by Chief Minister
Amarinder Singh against Badal's family members.
"VB has chosen to keep the identity of the officials a
closely guarded secret and it clearly shows that they are
afraid of their bluff being called even before the case
started, just as it happened in the case of those named in the
Harbans Lal affair," he alleged.
The SAD was keen to face the government's allegations in
a court of law at the earliest, Badal said and alleged that it
was the Chief Minister who had been "afraid" to present the
challan and was delaying the proceedings for fear of being
"exposed" in an independent judicial scrutiny.
"He has already run away from his allegations that we
have amassed Rs 3500 crore worth of property in foreign lands
and is now desperately fabricating evidence and managing false
complaints at the 11th hour to escape public humiliation.
However, we will make him answer all his actions in the
defamation suit filed against him by me", Badal said.
