More than 200 golf courses have been built in China since 1984 and another 200 are planned or under construction, according to Mogg and other industry figures.
But China's state council last month issued a circular calling for a nationwide examination of golf course, industrial park and other developments amid growing concerns they are taking up too much vital farm land.
