New York, June 09: Bob Dylan will kick off a summer US tour July 12 in Winter Park, Colo. The legendary singer/songwriter and his band will play 12 dates in the Northwest and California before hooking up with the Dead for a previously announced slate of shows. Save for a July 22 show in Nampa, Idaho, which will feature the String Cheese Incident, opening bands for the early half of the tour have not been announced.

Among the co-headlining dates with the Dead is an Aug. 10 stop at the inaugural Bonnaroo NE festival in Calverton, N.Y.
In other news, Dylan's soundtrack to the film "Masked and Anonymous" will be released July 22 via Columbia. As previously reported, Dylan stars in the film, which had its premiere in January at the Sundance Film Festival. "Masked" is scheduled to open July 25 in limited release in U.S. theaters.
On Aug. 19, Columbia/Legacy will release 15 classic Dylan albums in the hybrid Super Audio CD (SACD) format.
Six of those albums -- 1966's "Blonde on Blonde" (the only title previously released in the standard SACD format), 1964's "Another Side of Bob Dylan," 1965's "Bringing It All Back Home," 1975's "Blood on the Tracks," 1979's "Slow Train Coming," and 2001's "Love and Theft" -- will also feature 5.1 multi-channel surround sound mixes.
All of the discs will also feature restored artwork based on original album packaging.
The rest of the SACD releases are 1963's "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan," 1965's "Highway 61 Revisited," 1967's "John Wesley Harding," 1969's "Nashville Skyline," 1974's "Planet Waves," 1976's "Desire," 1978's "Street Legal," 1979's "Slow Train Coming," 1983's "Infidels," and 1989's "Oh Mercy."
