Indore, Sept 29: Congress President Sonia Gandhi today said the recent supreme court decision on Best Bakery case in Gujarat has vindicated the party's stand that under BJP rule, women in the country were getting hatred instead of affection and compassion. Addressing women's empowerment convention organised by the state women's wing of Congress here, Gandhi said "our stand has been vindicated with the supreme court decision in the Best Bakery case that unprecedented violence took place in Gujarat sometime back was a 'black spot' on humanity." The Congress president alleged that under BJP rule, violence against women had increased manifold. "The womenfolk instead of getting affection and compassion are getting hatred in the country under the BJP," she alleged adding the BJP was running a 'movement of hatred' in the nation. She also called upon the women in the state to teach a befitting lesson during coming assembly elections to elements who had perpetrated violence on their sisters in Gujarat.

Alleging that the present government at the Centre is the "government of corruption, communalism and against labours and farmers", Sonia urged the people to be aware of their designs and strengthen the Congress party.
