Wellington, Aug 25: A New Zealand man, caught short when he found the men's public toilet shut, ducked into the adjoining women's convenience where he spent the next 18 hours after being locked in by a caretaker unaware he was there, a newspaper reported today. The man entered the toilet in Petone, near Wellington, at 8 pm on Saturday and was not released until about 2 pm on Sunday afternoon after passers-by heard his cries for help and alerted police who cut the lock with bolt cutters, said the report. ''He was quite relieved to get out,'' police Sergeant Warren Harris told the paper. Bureau Report
