Jaipur, Sept 28: In a setback to Bahujan Samaj Party in Rajasthan ahead of assembly elections, three senior leaders today formed a new party accusing the newly appointed BSP chief Mayawati of being a "dictator". Shiv Dan Meghwal, Dharampal Kataria and Dilip Singh Marwal, former state unit chiefs, announced at a press conference here formation of Rashtriya Bahujan Samaj Party and claimed that nine district BSP chiefs and a large number of party cadre had joined them.
"We refuse to accept Mayawati as our chief... Kanshi Ram remains our leader", they said pledging loyalty to the bed ridden BSP supremo.
The new BSP president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati was "behaving like a dictator", they alleged.
Meghwal has been made president of the new party RBSP and Kataria, Marwal and Awasthi its vice-presidents.
The RBSP would contest 75 to 100 seats in the coming assembly polls, Meghwal said.
The setback to BSP comes at a time it was trying to expand its base in the state for the coming polls.
Earlier, its MLA Mahir Azad had left the party to join Congress. Bureau Report
