Gaya, July 07: Nine suspected naxalites have been arrested in connection with the joint attack on a police station by banned Maoist Communist Centre (MCC) and People's War guerrillas in Gaya district in which three persons, including a sub-inspector were killed. The arrests were made during raids conducted at different naxalite hideouts, the police said today.

All the arrested ultras were remanded to judicial custody after interrogation, the sources said, adding altogether 112 persons, mostly MCC activists, were named as accused in the case, the police said.
Heavily armed activists of the two underground outfits stormed Paraiya police station on July 2 and burnt alive its officer-in-charge Suresh Paswan, besides gunning down assistant sub-inspector Sitaram Singh and cook Arjun Paswan.

The policemen had, however, frustrated the naxalites' bid to loot the armoury.
