Jind, June 13: The stand-off between farmers and Haryana Government continued today with Bharatiya Kisan Union saying that it will wait till the 72-hour deadline given to the government to fulfil the union's demands is over. “We will wait and see the response of the government in these three days. What shape the ongoing stir will take will be decided after the deadline expires,” BKU's state president Ghasi Ram Nain said here. He said that BKU would continue with its agitation till their demands, including withdrawal of cases against all their leaders and waiver of outstanding power bills, were met. The farmers had yesterday given a fresh 72-hour ultimatum to the state government threatening to snap water supply to Delhi if their demands were not met. Prior to this ultimatum the BKU had given a 48-hour deadline to the government which had expired on Wednesday. However, the farmers did not carry out their threat to snap water supply to Delhi following withdrawal of cases against over 30 BKU activists. The farmers, who began their agitation on May 19 in Khandela, are continuing with their blockade of several roads in the district causing inconvenience to people.
