Ranchi, Mar 10: The Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) commitee today recommended all the 11 MPs of the dissolved Lok Sabha to the party's high command to renominate them for the coming general elections. Addressing a joint press conference, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and BJP state unit president Abhay Kant said today that the party high command, however, could change the candidates' names. The state unit has also recommended some names for the remaining three seats, Dumka, Kodarma and Rajmahal, they said.
The BJP had 11 members out of the total 14 Lok Sabha seats from the state. Speaking about the election campaign, they said on April 04 the party would organise 100 meetings in various parts of the state which would also be attended by the party's central leaders.
The BJP high command, which had deputed Sinha to hold discussions with the Janata Dal (U), an alliance partner of the NDA, on the seat sharing issue, had his first meeting with the JD(U) state leaders, Sinha said, adding that the talks had remained inconclusive.
Now the talks would be held between the central leaders of both the parties, he added. BJP vice-president and former chief minister of Jharkhand Babulal marandi was also present in the conference. Almost all senior JD (U) leaders, including its president Gautam Sagar Rana, Lalchand Mahato and Madhu Singh participated in the meeting.
