Mumbai, July 25: The city's week-long romance with varying hues, alluring designs and high-fashion came to an end on Thursday with the metropolis bidding adieu to the glamorous and much-debated event -- the India Fashion Week.
The day saw Delhi-based fashion designer, Payal Jain, presenting her collection of crushed velvet jackets, structured skirts, blouses worn with wrapover bodice printed in lycra, hand-painted patchwork camisoles, skirts in mock suede and snake skin, Thai silk, and rich brocade and old zari bordered apparel teemed with different fabrics.
'Voyage', the fall winter collection of Jain, also saw an amalgamation of a spectrum of fabrics, interesting textures, alluring layers put together. Jain with her pallete of rusts, ochres, tans and bronze tried to breathe an earthy and rustic character to her collection.
Rajesh Pratap Singh's collection saw some exquisite white ensemble ranging from gathered skirts, weaved and knitted tops, sleekly cut trousers for the women and some interesting motiffs and self patterened designed worked all in white.
Set against the cacophony of a railway station juxtaposed by soft soothing music, the collection also saw models showcasing an interesting pret line of collection with printed patterned tunics, western-cut apparel, all set against a sombre mood with models sashaying down the ramp with unusual downcast chins and lowered eyes.

Designer kings Satya Paul, Hemant Trivedi and Wendell Rodricks, also featured on the culminating day of the event.
