Ahmedabad, May 26: Police today arrested four persons from Godhra city, including two wanted in connection with Sabarmati Express train carnage of February 27 last year. All the four were arrested late this evening from Kalol-Karad Bridge when they travelling in a truck full of high-tension electricity wires they were allegedly smuggling. Official sources told a news agency.

The train carnage accused were identified as Habib alias Badashah bin Yamin Vaska and Rafiq new Muslim, both residents of Godhra, while their two accomplices were Mohammed alias Kala Chandaria and Hussain Gatva, the sources said.

Habib is reportedly the brother of another accused in the train carnage Zabir Bin Yamin Behra who reportedly confessed to the special investigating team (sit) of railway police regarding involvement of Maulvi Hussain Umarji and others of the core team who allegedly conspired and organised the attack on passengers of S-6 coach of the train.
All four are in custody of Godhra town police and would be handed over to the sit for interrogation later, the sources added.

The sit has been on the hunt for several accused persons who were absconding since the train carnage and Gujarat government recently chargesheeted Godhra-based Maulvi for his role as prime conspirator of the carnage.
