Hyderabad, May 11: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu resigned today following his party`s rout in the assembly elections.
Naidu, who met Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, tendered his resignation shortly results started pouring in clearly showing TDP`s poor show in the elections.
Earlier addressing a press conference here toady, Naidu graciously accepting his defeat in the assembly elections said, “He accepts people’s verdict.”
Thanking his supporters as well as BJP cadres who worked hard during the election campaign, Naidu said that he always believed that Andhra Pradesh experiment was important for the country, but what went wrong he would try to analyse. The TDP leader, who tried to make Andhra Pradesh a cyber friendly state, also thanked people for extending cooperation to his government in last nine years.
According to Naidu, if the mandate is for change he would analyse the reasons. He, however, expressed concern over the defeat of several good leaders.
Naidu, who went for early polls following a naxalite attack on him to capitalise on the sympathy wave, said that as soon as entire results come out the Polit Buro of his party would sit to analyse the factors responsible for the drubbing of his party.
