New Delhi, Apr 09: In a step to tackle choking drains and sewer lines before monsoon, Delhi government today asked the concerned departments to clean all such channels to prevent the outbreak of water-borne diseases in the capital. Delhi health minister A K Walia, who chaired a meeting of officials of NDMC, MCD, DDA, Delhi Jal Board and National Institute of Communicable Diseases, asked the departments to finish the work well before the rainy season. He instructed the Jal board officials to increase the number of water tankers and install chlorinators in tube-wells, clean reservoirs before the end of this month, an official release said here.

Walia instructed the MCD officials to start anti-larvae measures immediately to check mosquito breeding. Bureau Report
