New Delhi, Oct 29: The death toll due to dengue has risen to 30 even as 129 fresh cases were notified today, taking the total number of cases to 2066.

However, MCD maintained that no death has been reported due to dengue since last evening. Out of the four deaths reported yesterday, one occurred in September, two on October 22 and another on October 24.
Of the 30 deaths so far, 26 were reported from Delhi, three from Uttar Pradesh and one from Bihar, MCD said in a release.
It also maintained that all the new dengue cases are actually the old ones and most of the patients have already been discharged from the hospitals.
Results of 168 sero-positive cases were sent by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases to MCD yesterday, out of which 51 were duplicate cases which had already been reported to MCD by the various hospitals directly.
The figure of 129 also includes three deaths which were not previously reported as dengue cases.
Only nine new cases of dengue have been reported yesterday, the release said.
Of the 2066 dengue cases, 1646 are from Delhi, 73 from Harayana, 159 from UP, seven from Rajasthan, 29, other states, 50 remain untraceable, while addresses are not mentioned in 102 cases.
