New Delhi, Mar 01: British energy firm BP Amoco and Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) of Malaysia are likely to hold 29 per cent stake each in the consortium that is building the Rs 6,100-crore Kakinada LNG project in Andhra Pradesh. According to the joint collaboration agreement, state-owned Indian Oil Corp will hold 32 per cent stake in the project while the remaining 10 per cent would be with Singapore-based International Sea Ports (ISPL), sources in IOC said. However, the shareholding may undergo a change if either IOC's insistence on having a larger share or state-run gas firm GAIL (India) Ltd request for equity in the project is entertained. Kakinada Indian Oil LNG Consortium (KIOLC) has decided to move the landfall point 400-km away from Kakinada, where Reliance Industries will bring its natural gas from the D6 field in Bay of Bengal, to Krishnapatnam in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. "A formal decision over moving the landfall point will be taken after the Assembly polls in the state," sources said. Bureau Report
