Jammu, Aug 09: The last batch of 225 pilgrims left for holy cave shrine of Amarnath from the Maulana Azad Stadium here today for the darshan of the "ice lingum" on ‘Shravan Poornima’, which coincides with ‘Raksha Bandhan’ on August 12. Today's batch, the smallest since the commencement of yatra on July 9, left from here in a convoy of 12 vehicles under escort by security personnel, official sources said.

"The authorities are not sending any new batches from here," they said, adding the main lodging centre -- m a stadium -- would close its operation this evening.
Shri Amarnath Langar Sabha Samiti, Ganga Nagar, Rajasthan organised a function at the stadium last evening to mark the culmination of month-long yatra.

The president of the samiti, Sham Sotra congratulated the administration for rendering full cooperation to the samiti for running langars at the stadium and the cave shrine situated at a height of 3880 meters.
Reports from Srinagar said that 1,51,898 pilgrims had visited the valley in connection with the holy pilgrimage and 1,50,174 had worshipped at the cave shrine till last evening.
