Itanagar, May 25: Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP today demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Mukut Mithi on moral grounds following alleged revelations by his ministers about his government's involvement with a faction of NSCN. The revelations were allegedly made before a special police team investigating the presence of names of certain ministers and MLAs in the diary of an NSCN cadre last year.

BJP state unit general secretary Khiren Rijijo, who released copies of alleged statements made by some of the ministers and MLAs before the investigation team, said "There were enough reasons to ask the Chief Minister to resign." "The statements of ministers like T Wangham, C C Singpho, Setong Sena and Congress MLAs W Lowang and L Wanglat about close contact of the Mithi-led Congress government with NSCN ultras should not be taken lightly since they are holding constitutional post under oath of office and secrecy," he said.
