Stamp paper scam: Gadkari to meet Gote in Yerwada jail
Nagpur, Nov 15: Opposition leader in Maharashtra Legislative Council Nitin Gadkari will meet Anil Gote, the Samajwadi Party MLA who is an accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, at Yerwada prison in Pune on November 19.

stamp paper scam, at Yerwada prison in Pune on November 19.
"I would like to extract from Gote information about
alleged involvement of Congress and NCP ministers in DF
government and other beneficiries in the scam," Gadkari said
in a release here today.
Gadkari said he has sought permission from superintendent of prison, Pune for this purpose.
Gadkari said his meeting with Gote "may provide some vital leads in connection with alleged payment of Rs 20 crore to a senior DF minister."
"Gote is a leader of a political party and an MLA. He should undergo whatever punishment court gives him in the fake stamp paper scam," the opposition leader said adding "but I feel nothing wrong in meeting Gote in jail and seeking all the relevant information from him related to the scam."
Gote, the sitting MLA from Dhule district, was the first politician arrested three months ago under the provisions of MCOCA for having links with Abdul Karim Telgi, the kingpin the the multi-crore scam.
