Quetta, Pakistan, Jan 17: A rocket landed near Army barracks and offices in this southwestern Pakistani city, but caused no injuries or damage, police said. The attack late yesterday left a crater in an open field near the Army buildings in Quetta, capital of southwestern Baluchistan province, police official Faiz Mohammed said.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack.
Quetta has been the scene of mysterious small-scale bomb explosions and rocket attacks in recent months, but there have been few casualties and little serious damage.
Some violence in the city, near the border with Afghanistan, has been blamed on Islamic militants. Bureau Report
