London, Oct 17: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson will face a disciplinary hearing Monday to answer charges he used abusive language toward match officials.
Ferguson requested a personal hearing, the English Football Association said Thursday. He faces a touchline ban, heavy fine, or both over his behaviour in Manchester United's game at Newcastle on Aug. 23.
Ferguson faces two charges _ a general "improper conduct" charge and a specific claim he used insulting or abusive language toward fourth official Jeff Winter and referee Uriah Rennie.
Ferguson was caught on television cameras yelling at Winter, angry that Rennie didn't award a free-kick after Newcastle's Andy O'brien tackled United winger Ryan Giggs.

After Rennie had already ordered him away from the touchline, Ferguson continued to argue, and the referee then ordered him out of the dug out and into the stands.
