Nepal's Queen Komal was discharged from hospital, on Wednesday, where she was treated for lung and rib wounds suffered in the June 1 Nepalese royal palace massacre, the Palace announced in a statement.
Queen Komal returned to her own home rather than going to the official residence of the Nepalese King. King Gyanendra has also not moved to the official residence and remained in his personal residence.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and chiefs of constitutional bodies saw the queen off at Birendra Military Hospital where three others wounded in the carnage were still undergoing treatment. Princess Shova Shahi, sister of King Gyanendra, Kumar Gorakh SJB Rana, husband of the late Princess Shruti, and Ketaki Chester, a cousin of the King, remained in the hospital for further treatment.
Crown Prince Dipendra was found by an investigation commission to be responsible for the slayings of nine members of the Nepalese royal family, including King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya, their son prince nirajan and daughter Princess Shruti. The crown prince turned a gun on himself and took his own life following the massacre, the probe commission said.
Queen Komal was making satisfactory progress, the Palace announcement said.
