Jammu, July 27: A Border Security Force jawan and a Pakistani ranger were killed in an exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani troops along the international border in Jammu division last night, BSF sources said here today.
Pakistani rangers, using light arms, fired on Indian positions in R S Pura's Suchetgarh area killing a BSF head constable, who was engaged in some construction work there, the sources said.
The Indian troops fired back in which a Pakistani ranger was killed, they said adding the two sides traded fire for a few hours.
The two sides also exchanged fire at Fatwal, S M Pura and Budhwar along the IB and at Bhanwani along the LOC in Jammu district since last evening.
There were no casualties or damage on the Indian side, the sources said.
