Ayodhya, June 24: A meeting of pro-VHP saints today adopted a resolution asking the Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati to stop his efforts to broker a solution to Ayodhya issue saying none of the Sants and groups spearheading the temple movement was taken into confidence before start of his initiative. The meeting here was presided over by Jagadguru Purushottamacharya, a senior member of VHP's Margdarshak Mandal. The resolution said some bargaining seemed to be going on between the government, All India Muslim Personal Law Board and the Shankaracharya and it was learnt that the old places of worship and mosque were to be offered to the Muslims, which were under the supervision of Archeological Survey of India. Some other proposals to offer financial aid to Muslim Madrasas and reservation to Muslims in government jobs were also there, the resolution claimed. The meeting warned Vajpayee government that if VHP and Sants were taken into confidence in the matter, a country-wide agitation will be launched to oppose the "one-sided" move.
