Madurai, Dec 16: About 300 DYFI (Democratic Youth Federation of India) members were taken into custody for allegedly picketing the road in front of a post office and the collector's office here today.
The DYFI members were demanding employment for over 50 lakh unemployed youths who had registered with the various employment exchanges across the state.
They were also demanding lifting of ban on recruitment and protesting against the proposed privatisation of transport corporation, handing over of wasteland to the corporate sector and 'commercialisation' of education.
