Bangalore, Jan 11: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd today said the contentious integrated airspace management issue for the Bangalore International Airport at Devanahalli had been resolved, paving the way for the defence ministry to issue a no-objection certificate for the Greenfield Project. "We have sorted out all issues regarding the integrated airspace management. A consent of agreement has to be signed by all parties concerned...It will be done in the next few days," HAL chairman N R Mohanty told here today.

Defence Minister George Fernandes yesterday held talks with HAL management and Karnataka government representatives on the issue which had hit an air pocket for India's first private airport project, about 35 kms from the city.

Siemens, unique Zurich Airport and L&T jointly hold 74 per cent stake in Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL), a firm for building the project, with Airport Authority of India and KSSIDC holding 13 per cent stake each. A committee is also being set up to finalise an alternate site for the Indian Air Force's base in Kolar, about 75 kms from Bangalore, that caused concern for the flight path of civil aircraft into Devanahalli.
