Coimbatore, May 19: Expressing optimism on "getting the elusive forest brigand, Veerappan," Tamil Nadu DGP I K Govind today said both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments were working out some new strategies in this regard. "There is no let up, we will get him," Govind told reporters here.
Stating that he had held a meeting with T Srinivasulu, security adviser to Karnataka government, and discussed new strategies, Govind said though a lot of information was coming in, these were not accurate. "One thing is definite, he is not in Tamil Nadu," Govind said, adding even Karnataka government had agreed that Veerappan was in their territory.
Asked about deploying more men, he said too much manpower could be a disadvantage in such operations. To another question on acquiring sophisticated weapons and equipment from the Centre, Govind said Tamil Nadu had not sought any such assistance from the Centre, only Karnataka has sought assistance.
