Srinagar, Sept 21: In yet another blow to the Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohamnmad militant outfit, the Army in a pre-dawn operation shot dead four of its ultras in Kupwara district, a defence spokesman said. Acting on information about the presence of ultras in Gulgam jungles, the troops launched a search operation in the wee hours. In the over four hour encounter that followed, four militants were killed, the spokesman said. All the four Jaish militants have been identified as Pakistanis, the spokesman said. Four AK rifles, six grenades, three radio sets and 20 detonators with batteries were recovered from the slain militants, he added.
Since the killing of Jaish's 'chief commander operations' in Kashmir, Ghazi Baba, on August 30 last, the outfit has lost two other top militants and 13 of their hideouts were unearthed by police and border security forces in the city. Bureau Report
